Intimacy of Hearts
(FCC, Richmond)  The Family Christian Church first major event was successfully held last night, February 13, 2004. The event, billed "Intimacy of Hearts" was attended by 23 couples and several other ladies whose husbands were not able to make it that night. By all accounts, the event was truly a remarkable one, for it achieved the goal of hosting the evangelistic event. It was held at the JD Murdoch Hall at Bennett Road in Richmond.

The event started with an invocation by Bro. Ricky Pabello and a brief opening remarks by Pastor Beng Arriola. A complimentary dinner was served by a select  FCC ladies and men. While the dinner is being served, the quad group of Bro. Rick M., Bro. Ernie, Bro. Ed and Bro. Joe serenaded the congregation with their rendition of several popular Tagalog and vernacular  "Harana" love songs. A game "How well you know your spouse" was also held to complement the nature and theme of the night.

The highlight of the event was the message of our guest speaker entitled" Intimacy".  Bro. Joe Larano introduced the speaker as a humble servant of God whose passion for ministering God's word and counselling are overwhelming in his life. He previously worked for United Nation High Commission for Refugees and lately as a host counsellor in a DZAS radio program "Heartline" Pastor Abdul Lagayan started his message by making an exercise for each couple to undergo a ten-item IQ test ( Intimacy Qoutient). As he expounded the message, it became clear to everybody that true intimacy does not mean a mere closeness or mutual understanding. Applying biblical principle and God's instruction produce true intimacy. At the end of the message, As a response to the message, Pastor Abdul led the couples to an intimacy vow which made several couples to shed their tears as sign of renewed humility and acceptance to be intimate again under God's principle of intimacy. Everybody was blessed by the powerful message.
